Manage Better Foot Care with Diabetes

After having cellulitis on one toe from a blister and
being told I may lose my toe, foot, ankle, or leg, I
know it's time to see a diabetic doctor and a podiatrist.
It's also time to get a pair of sturdy safe shoes (through
medicare), and buy diabetic socks.  I certainly don't
want an amputation and will do everything  I can to
prevent it.  This happened to me after only 6 years of
being a diabetic.

Betty's Message

I extend a warm welcome to our new mwmbers
--and an equally warm "welcomw back" to
returning friends and members.  You are in for
many thoughts and sharing from all the wonderful
people here.  Our community is an ever-evolving
and dynamic site and plays an important role in
extending opportunities for commenting and
friendship to all who, like myself, are finally able
to take some time for themselves.  The volunteering
of thoughts and messaging are exemplary and bespeaks
the generosity and openess of our members.

                            Enjoy!

Valentine Treasures

Valentine Treasures...
are people who often crossed your mind, family, friends,
and others, too, who in your life have shined the warmth
of love or a spark of light that makes you remember them;
no matter how long since you've actually met, each one is
a luminous gem, who gleams and glows in your memory,
bringing special treasures, and that's why this Valentine
comes to you:  you're one of those sparkling tearsures!

Valentine Smile...

On Valentine's Day we think of those who make
our lives worthwhile, those gracious, friendly
people who we think of with a smile.

I'm fortunate to know you, that's why I want to
say, to a rare and special person...
Happy Valentine's Day!

Hugs, Betty

Valentine Delight!

On Valentine's Day,
I think about the people who
are dear, how much they add to life's delight when-
ever they are near.  You're always a total joy, such
pleasant company, I very much appreciate our
compatibility!

Diabetic for 6 years stopped testing for 2 years

Do you ever get disgusted when your bloodsugar runs high.
I did because I didn't know what to do about it.  What was
the point of testing if I didn't know how to lower it.  Well,
today I found the answer on the internet.  So, I ordered my
testing supplies and will start testing again.

Foods that help lower bloodsugar include:

peanuts
pecans
walnuts
avacados
sweetpotatoes
garlic

My health is much worse now and I need to follow my diet
strictly and keep a food journal like I was doing.  Also, I finally
met a primary care doctor that really does care.  Thank God!
